Maryland has started to welcome some of its top targets to campus this past week with DMV four-stars Carlton "CJ" Smith and Malik Washington checking out the facilities and reconnecting with the coaching staff. While the bulk of visitors will make their way to campus during the first week of spring practice, another local target has plans to visit campus in two weeks as Rock Creek (MD) three-star defensive lineman Nahsir Taylor is set to unofficially visit Maryland on April 1, he tells IBG. Co-defensive coordinator Aazaar Abdul-Rahim has led the way thus far with Taylor, a 6-foot-2, 263-pound interior lineman, while defensive GA David Brownlee has been able to chip in and give Taylor another familiar face inside the building. “I talk to coach Aazaar consistently for the past two weeks. The GA, David Brownlee, we’ve connected pretty well. We actually played a game together. He won but the series is tied right now so we’ve gotta break that tie,” Taylor joked last month. “We actually share a couple of personal things and stuff so we actually got to know each other, ask a couple about family. I asked some stuff, so we know each other pretty well and know quite a bit about each other. While he's currently at Rock Creek, the local three-star lineman could be on the move heading into his senior season after a shakeup at his school that led head coach, Andre Kates, to be named the new defensive coordinator at Riverdale Baptist. Maryland already has one interior defensive lineman in the fold in Braheem Battles and are in the top group for four-star DT Bryce Jenkins, who has the Terps as one of two current official visit destinations. Florida interior lineman Christian Hudson is also slated to visit campus twice, first for the spring game then an official visit, as the Terps have quality options to bolster its 2025 defensive line. Taylor fields a double-digit offer list heading into the fall with Boston College, Georgia, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse and Virginia Tech among others. Nahsir Taylor is rated a three-star prospect and an 84 overall by On3, sitting as the 31st-best prospect in Maryland. Related Links
