Another defensive back has hit the transfer portal.
Cornerback Devyn King has entered the portal, a source confirmed with Inside the Black and Gold. King becomes the third cornerback to enter the transfer portal over the last 24 hours and joins Kenny Bennett and Lavonte Gater, leaving the Terps’ depth at cornerback thin for the upcoming season.
King did not appear in game action as a true freshman and appeared in three games last fall, including Maryland’s win over Virginia Tech in the Pinstripe Bowl. King finished with four total tackles in Maryland’s spring game on Saturday.
King, a former three-star prospect out of Junipero Serra (CA), signed with Maryland over offers from Boston College, Fresno State, Nevada, Ole Miss and Oregon among others.
With the news, Maryland now has seven scholarships available for the upcoming 2022 season.
