Maryland staying consistent with Florida defensive end

Maryland has once again made Florida an area of emphasis this cycle as the staff saw a handful of targets make their way to campus one week prior for the spring game, but another who has trekked through campus this ball was Edgewater (FL) defensive end Josh Alexander-Felton. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound edge rusher has been steadily hearing from outside linebacker coach and area recruiter James Thomas with the Terps squarely in contention. Alexander-Felton was also able to hit Kentucky, Tennessee, UAB, Florida, Georgia Tech and Marshall but the relationships in College Park and consistency from the staff have kept Maryland in mind. "They’ve been doing a really good job recruiting me. They showed me around, how they develop their guy. I saw the hard coaching but it was flexible," Alexander-Felton told IBG. "I was connecting well with the players. I know Jack Howes, he was the kicker for Edgewater. Jordan , he plays line. Jeshaun Jones, Fa’Najae Gotay." https://twitter.com/__Thegreat5/status/1645533770596982785 What makes Maryland so appealing? "I've got family in Maryland. I can really connect with the coaches. I can see myself playing with their d line, the way coach coaches and connects." Maryland made the trip down to Florida on Wednesday as the staff keeps tabs on its prime targets in an effort to get them back to campus for an official visit. But with the Terps in steady pursuit of his teammate, three-star defensive back Cai Bates, Maryland is also expected to receive an official visit from Alexander-Felton with Thomas leading the way. "They’re one of my top schools." Josh Alexander-Felton is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall by On3, sitting as the 99th-best prospect in Florida. Related Links
