Opponents for Maryland men's basketball in 2025 Players Era Festival released

The next installment of Maryland men’s basketball’s 2025-26 non-conference schedule has officially been announced with Maryland officially included in the 18-team field in the 2025 Players Era Festival.

Maryland will face UNLV on Nov. 24 at 12 AM ET/9 PM PT then face Gonzaga on Nov. 25 at 9:30 PM ET/6:30 PM PT, per release.

This marks the first meeting vs. UNLV since 1986 with the Lobos holding a 4-1 all-time series lead, while Gonzaga and Maryland haven't met since 2008 and have won the last three matchups with the Terps taking the first game back in 1995.

Maryland is one of four Big Ten teams alongside Michigan, Oregon and Rutgers with Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Creighton, Gonzaga, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Notre Dame, San Diego State, Saint Joseph's, St. John's, Syracuse, Tennessee, and UNLV included.

Maryland is expected to return to the 2026 Players Era Festival with the tournament expected to expand to 32 teams, easily making it the largest non-NCAA Tournament event in the history of the sport.

Maryland’s non-conference schedule also features road games against Marquette and Virginia in addition to a matchup vs. Georgetown to kick off the 2025-26 home schedule. Maryland will open the season vs. Coppin State at the CFG Arena in Baltimore, the program previously announced.

To create a first-of-its-kind men's college basketball showcase, the 2025 Players Era Men's Championship will debut an entirely new format that combines international style-group play with championship matchups. The result will be an unmatched competitive environment where every second of every game counts and the championship matchups deliver high level games with a postseason feel.

This year's men's championship will again coincide with the opportunity for athletes on each team to engage in at least $1 million of NIL activities for Players Era and its sponsors outside of competition. Publicis Sports, the dedicated U.S. sports practice within Publicis Media, will continue to partner with EverWonder and the Players Era Men's Championship to help secure new advertising and sponsorship partners for the tournament.
