Four-stars Mike Van Buren, Aaron Chiles and Jaylen Harvey headline Maryland’s final visitor list of the 2022 season.
Van Buren, St. France’s star quarterback, was expected to return to Maryland last weekend but stayed home on the morning after the 27-16 loss to IMG. Maryland has solidified itself as a viable contender in his recruitment dating back to the spring before hosting him for what will now be his third visit in College Park this season. The same could be said for Chiles, who at one point heading into the summer had only visited Maryland thus far. The physically imposing Good Counsel linebacker, who may prove to be the best out of Olney since Keandre Jones, popped up on campus for last weekend’s game against Ohio State as outside linebacker coach James Thomas leads his recruitment. Chiles will keep Maryland under consideration, but they’ll battle a national slate of contenders to land him. Harvey, meanwhile, remains a Penn State lean but will now pop up on campus for the fourth time this season.
UMass verbal Donovan Dyson will pop back on campus for the third time this season and second consecutive week as he’s a backup target.
Maryland also jumped into the mix for 2025 Cooper (KY) DE Austin Alexander, the nephew of longtime NFL running back Shaun Alexander, following camp over the summer and he’ll visit for the second time this season. Maryland also extended an offer to Millville (NJ) WR Ta’ron Haile last spring and now, he’ll follow through with his first trip to campus.
One big out-of-State visitor is Evans (FL) four-star safety Brandon Jacob, who added his first offer from Maryland back when Brawley Evans was on the staff. Jacob, another target under the umbrella of James Thomas, has his offer reaffirmed as the staff will look to leave a strong impression in the fast-riser’s recruitment. George Washington (VA) Kemori Dixon and Paramus Catholic (NJ) offensive lineman Juan Minaya will also visit.
