2026 QB Dillon Faust talks offseason transfer to Bullis, QB Factory

After suiting up for St. John’s (DC) over the last two seasons, quarterback Dillon Faust has made the local transfer over to Bullis under head coach Ray Butler and he’s already hit the ground running to get acclimated to his new team.

“I visited a bunch of schools and what stuck out about them is the coaching staff. They’re pretty new, like all last year, but the way I talked to them, the first time I went there we were already talking about plays. I really connected with them and I feel like their knowledge and the way they do stuff there, they can really help me grow into my junior and senior year.”

Faust’s transfer hasn’t altered much of his offseason routine with lifts and workouts still driving his focus, while Bullis will hit the road in June for 7-on-7 tournaments at a handful of regional schools.

“I think I handled it very well. Immediately I started going over there for lifts. I’ll usually stay after with my offensive coordinator and we’ll just go over film, go over plays, so I think I really have a good connection with all the guys over there,” Faust added.

“We started our first spring field workout already. After school I’ll go to Bullis or a QB workout then on the weekends, I go to QB Factory. I’ll go to Bullis, get on the field, practice with some guys then head over to QB Factory.”

Faust cited the upcoming 7-on-7 season as a chance to “focus on getting everything right like mechanically and physically,” but his consistent training with Chris Baucia and QB Factory has helped improve his feel and IQ of the game.

“My big thing, obviously continuing to get smarter off the field, watching way more film than I did last season—NFL, college and high school—just going over everything that I need to know. I would say I’m growing exponentially on the IQ side. I’ve been working a lot on arm strength because I think my accuracy and touch was already there. If I can add some arm strength, I can make a lot of throws and make more things happen on the field.”

Faust, who carries a 3.8 GPA into the final quarter of his sophomore season, is coming off an unofficial visit to Maryland for their spring game while he visited both Charlotte and NC State last fall.
