Top-100 prospect feels "home vibe" during first visit to Maryland

The latest offer for 2025 St. Joseph (OH) four-star Bo Jackson was Maryland after connecting with the staff in early July, so when the dead period ended last week, the 6-foot, 204-pound running back made his way to College Park for his first unofficial visit to campus. “I liked it. I liked the facilities and all the coaches,” Jackson told IBG. “I had a meeting with coach Locksley after I got there. He was just trying to get to know me more on a personal level. He told me all about his background. I felt like all the coaches were very welcoming. It was just a home vibe being all around them.” Recruiting analyst Marcus Thomas has driven Maryland’s early interest so far and was a driving force in why Jackson added College Park to his weekend itinerary. “He's one of the recruiting analysts. He came across my tape and we talk when we can, but he's the main one,” Jackson added. “I like him over the phone, he's a really cool dude.” Jackson admitted he isn’t as familiar with Maryland’s offensive scheme yet and could return to campus for a game this fall, but he’s taken notice of Maryland’s progress under Locksley. “I like Maryland as a school and they've been doing some good things the last two years.” Jackson spent the weekend in Maryland, visiting College Park on Saturday before seeing family outside of Baltimore. Maryland was the second visit for the four-star running back this month, while he previously unofficially visited Rutgers earlier in the week and camped at Ohio State. “I don’t have any set plans to go see schools in the fall but I’m trying to go and at least see a few.” Jackson is rated a four-star prospect and a 91 overall by On3, sitting as the third-best prospect in Ohio and the 89th-best in the country.
