Maryland will host a couple of interior offensive linemen this weekend, but the staff saw themselves make the top group for a committed Pac-12 lineman earlier this week.
Maryland made the top ten for Northeast (PA) there-star offensive tackle Naquil Betrand this week alongside Auburn, Boston College, Cincinnati, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Syracuse, Texas A&M and West Virginia.
Betrand, a current Colorado commit, announced his commitment back on March 22 but the 6-foot-6, 320-pound tackle has garnered significant attention on the recruiting trail and has added additional blue-blood interest as the Buffs will have their work cut out for them to keep the Philly product committed. Terps running back coach Elijah Brooks is leading the way for Betrand as the Terps’ staff works to remain in the mix for the towering tackle after offering back on May 10.
Betrand will officially visit Syracuse the weekend of June 24.
Maryland will lose both starting offensive tackles in Spencer Anderson and Jaelyn Duncan exhausting their eligibility following the 2022 season as the staff works to restock the room, though Maryland does not currently have any offensive linemen committed in the 2023 class.
Betrand is rated a three-star prospect and an 86 overall by On3, sitting as the 18th-best prospect in Pennsylvania.
