Maryland football is working to bolster the defensive side of the trenches this cycle and got good news from a key out-of-state target when Edgewater (FL) three-star defensive end Josh Alexander-Felton announced his top five. Alexander-Felton, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound lineman, announced a top five with Georgia Tech, Maryland, NC State, Pitt and UCF still in the mix. Alexander-Felton took an official visit to NC State the weekend of June 16 then Maryland the weekend of June 23 as he inches closer towards finalizing a decision date. “I just wanted to kind of get the feel for it if it was home,” Alexander-Felton told IBG following his Maryland official visit. “Maryland is a long way from Florida so I just wanted to see if they had the vibe, the feeling. I was keeping my eyes open, paying attention to everything, every little thing." Outside linebacker coach James Thomas has led the recruitment of Alexander-Felton and a pair of visits to campus has kept the Terps squarely in contention. “I’m a versatile player so they see me playing along the defensive line, so I liked to hear that a lot.” As a junior, Josh Alexander-Felton posted 59 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and four sacks. Josh Alexander-Felton is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall by On3, sitting as the 120th-best prospect in Florida and the nation’s 99th-best defensive lineman. Related Links
