With the regular season officially over, Maryland men’s basketball will now shift its attention to postseason basketball in hopes of pulling off a miracle through the week.

The two teams met once this season with the Ducks taking a 64-54 finish to open the 2026 slate back on Jan. 2.

While Maryland enters Tuesday looking to snap a four-game losing streak with wins in just three of their last 11 games, Oregon ended their season with a six-point win over Washington at home as they’ve now won four of their last seven games.

The start of the path for Maryland is already set. The winner of Tuesday’s meeting will face Iowa on Wednesday for a noon ET tipoff, followed by Ohio State on Thursday and Michigan on Friday. But one day at a time, and in a season that has proven to be the least successful in program history, no opponent is overlooked for the Terps.

“ I just told the kids, when I finish this, we'll figure it out as a staff and start diagnosing what's transpired over the last eight weeks with Oregon,” head coach Buzz Williams said after falling vs. 11th-ranked Illinois on Sunday. “And then we're going to get together tomorrow for what we call two day before, even though it's not two day before, and just begin to give context to Oregon, to their roster, to their style of play, maybe some of those cobwebs will come to life.”

Maryland is also 6-10 all-time in the Big Ten Tournament while Tuesday will also mark a chance for Maryland’s first-ever win against Oregon after falling in each of the first two meetings.
