St. Frances (MD) four-star edge rusher Dashawn Womack has been active with visits this spring in order to take the next step in his recruitment, and he did exactly that on Friday after releasing his top ten.
Auburn, Boston College, Georgia, LSU, Maryland, Michigan, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Temple made the cut for the 6-foot-4, 245-pound edge rusher.
Maryland hosted nearly the entire St. Frances team in batches back in early March with Womack and four-star Isaiah Neal among the first to step on campus. The Terps are recruiting Womack as a JACK linebacker with inside linebacker coach Lance Thompson leading the charge with defensive coordinator Brian Williams chipping in. Womack was able to meet with head coach Mike Locksley on his last trip. “He’s straight-up forward with me. Keeps it real.”
Womack then took a two-day unofficial visit to LSU before checking out Georgia days later. Womack has also visited both Ole Miss and Michigan back in March after a small group from the Baltimore powerhouse made the group trip. Womack was able to reunite with former St. Frances prospects at each stop, but Maryland is looking to keep the in-state edge rusher closer to home after Womack has visited campus at least four times since last summer.
Womack is rated a four-star prospect and a 95 overall by On3, sitting as the top prospect in Maryland and ninth-best edge rusher in the nation.
