Maryland is still in the midst of bringing in a host of targets across the region and along the east coast with spring ball still in full swing ahead of next Saturday's spring game. But with official visits getting set around the country, a four-star target will make his way back to campus yet again. Cummings (NC) four-star receiver Jonathan Paylor will officially visit Maryland the weekend of June 9, he confirmed with IBG. The 5-foot-9, 170-pound wideout has made it to campus already with his first visit coming last summer for the Terps' home game against Ohio State. After initially making his top ten, Paylor omitted Maryland from his top eight with Alabama, Clemson, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, NC State, North Carolina and South Carolina in the mix. Sources told IBG, however, that Maryland was still under consideration with the offensive staff keeping in frequent contact and making their way to North Carolina to check in on him during the eval period earlier this year. With wide receiver coach Gunter Brewer leading the way, Maryland left a strong impression on the 5-foot-9 track star as they remain in the mix. https://twitter.com/jonathan_paylor/status/1621240922926186497 “It was great. They have a beautiful campus, have great facilities. It was kind of insane, that was probably top three facilities I’ve ever seen," Paylor added. "But just overall being around the fans, being around the mascot, being on the field with the coaches, talking with the players after the game. Really getting a chance to evaluate the program, it was great.” Maryland has shown film of second-year receiver Octavian Smith to illustrate Paylor's fit with the Terps. “They have a freshman right now that’s another version of me. He plays the slot, outside receiver and sometimes tailback. They see me playing that position.” Maryland loaded up at receiver last cycle after signing Braden Wisloski, Ryan Manning, Ezekiel Avit, Sean Williams and Josh Richards out of high school along with Kaden Prather and Tyrese Chambers out of the transfer portal. Paylor is rated a four-star prospect and a 90 overall by On3, sitting as the tenth-best prospect in North Carolina. Related Links
