Maryland now has its second offensive line commit of the 2025 cycle as Gadsden County (FL) three-star Lamar Williams committed to Maryland. Williams, a 6-foot-6 offensive tackle, committed to Maryland over UCF and Florida State among others while the Florida lineman backed off his pledge to Miami (FL) last month. Williams gave his verbal to the staff on his official visit the weekend of June 6 as co-defensive coordinator and lead recruiter Brian Williams paved the way since the start of the 2025 cycle. “I loved it. The coaches were showing me love and they made it clear I’m a big priority for them,” Williams told IBG about his official visit. “I was with coach Bras and coach Marcus and the players, Dumervil. is a good coach. He’s been wanting me to get up here show me everything so it was good getting a chance to see everything he’s talking about.” Williams never took another official visit as head coach Mike Locksley and offensive line coaches Brian Braswell and Damian Wroblewski look to add more size to the offensive tackle room. Williams joins Ben Beymer, another tackle out of Florida, this cycle while Chaminade-Madonna (FL) three-star defensive tackle Donta Simpson went public with his pledge on Sunday, committing to Maryland over FAU and West Virginia. Lamar Williams is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall by On3, checking in as the 88th-best prospect in Florida and the nation’s 66th-best offensive tackle. As a junior, Williams started as Gadsden County’s starting right tackle where he was named an all-region second-team selection. Related Links
