Maryland makes top ten for four-star RB Iverson Howard

One day after making the final six for Spalding (MD) four-star QB Malik Washington, Maryland made the cut for another local prospect on Friday as Quince Orchard (MD) four-star running back Iverson Howard released his top ten.

Howard, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound running back, included Florida, Maryland, Miami (FL), Michigan, NC State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin in his top ten.

Outside linebackers coach James Thomas has led the way with Howard so far while the in-state product has been able to sit down with Latrell Scott, Maryland’s running back caoch. “They’re definitely working. They told me I’m their number one recruit for 2025. Coach [James Thomas], he comes down there a lot. It feels like he’s there every week,” Howard added. “I’ve watched their running backs a lot. They show they run the ball a lot so I like that. I got a chance to sit down with coach [Latrell] Scott. I really like him,” Howard told IBG this fall.

Howard visited Maryland twice already in the spring and returned to College Park for the Virginia game this fall where he and four-star teammate Jaylen Harvey, who signed with Penn State, watched the Terps take down their border rival in the Friday night game.

Iverson Howard is rated a four-star prospect and a 90 overall by On3, sitting as the fifth-best prospect in Maryland and the nation’s 17th-best running back.
