Maryland football announces future games against Hampton, FAU

Maryland football will look to take the next step in the new-look Big Ten with USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington joining the conference this upcoming 2024 season, but the program announced two additional games to its future schedule on Tuesday.

Maryland announced it will host Florida Atlantic University on August 30, 2025, and will also host Hampton on Sept. 5, 2026, marking the first matchups against both programs. Maryland previously announced a home-and-home with UCF with matchups set in 2025 and 2028 with the Knights expected to host the first matchup, but that series has been scrapped with the latest additions to the future schedule.

Maryland’s 2025 conference schedule features home games against Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, and Washington while the Terps are set to travel to Illinois, Michigan State, Rutgers, UCLA, and Wisconsin.

Maryland’s 2026 conference schedule features five home games with Illinois, Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA, and Wisconsin headed to College Park along with away games against Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue, and USC.

Per release, Maryland’s non-conference schedule through 2027 is now finalized with at least one non-conference game scheduled through 2031.

Maryland will now face FAU, Northern Illinois, and Towson in 2025, then face Hampton, Virginia Tech, and travel to UConn in 2026. Maryland will then travel to Blacksburg to face the Hokies in 2027, combined with home games against James Madison and Youngstown State.

Maryland previously announced future matchups and will host Virginia Tech on Sept. 16, 2028, then complete the series against Virginia Tech with a road game in 2029. Maryland will also host host Toledo in 2029 while a home-and-home with Wake Forest is set for 2030 and 2031 with the Deamon Deacons hosting the Terps first in 2030.
