Four-star safety include two Maryland visits in spring plans

Warwick (VA) four-star athlete Messiah Delhomme has mapped out his spring schedule, which features return visits to four schools including Maryland.

Delhomme, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound athlete, will kick off his round of visits with a trip to Virginia Tech on March 16 then an official visit to Blacksburg beginning May 31. It’s been a collective effort from the Hokies’ staff as they look to keep the in-state target local.

“It’s been the whole coaching staff, honestly,” Delhomme told IBG. “It’s definitely been nice building relationships with everyone there.”

Delhomme will visit Maryland for an unofficial visit on March 30 for spring practice, then return to College Park for his official visit on June 21. Assistant Latrell Scott has led the way with the Virginia native thus far as Delhomme last visited College Park for the Illinois game last October.

“We can talk about anything about football, life after football. It’s just real comfortable between us,” he added. “I definitely like the program, just how [Mike] Locksley is doing with his group and the on-field production.”

Virginia, meanwhile, will look to make noise in his recruitment with an unofficial visit set for March 21 then an official on June 7. “Virginia’s whole staff reaches out to me, too,” Delhomme added. What else sticks out about the ‘Hoos? “Definitely the academics.”

Syracuse is set to host Delhomme for an unofficial visit on April 13, while Ohio State will also get a pair of visits. The four-star will head to Ohio State on April 6 for an unofficial visit then return to Columbus for an official visit beginning June 14.

Delhomme is rated a four-star prospect and a 90 overall by On3, sitting as the eighth-best prospect in Virginia and the nation’s 272^nd-best prospect nationally.
