DC lineman connects with position coach, eyeing return visit to Maryland

With Maret head basketball head coach Chuck Driesell back in College Park with his dad honored during Sunday’s basketball game vs. Michigan State, the football program had a few of its players make their way to campus as three-star IOL Grayson Reid made his way back to campus.

The 6-foot-3, 270-pound lineman spent the bulk of his day with his position recruiter as the two were able to strengthen their in-person connection. “It was good to hang out with coach [Brian] Braswell for a little bit. That was the first time we were able to really connect. It was great seeing coach Aazaar again,” Reid told IBG. “Hadn’t seen him in a while. Coach [Brian] Williams had been at my school a week earlier but it was good seeing them. Coach Braswell was sitting next to me at the game and we were talking but it was lowkey. They were talking about having me come back, look more at the school and then watch some film and highlights.”

Reid previously made his way to College Park back in the spring and summer, initially with plans to camp in College Park in June before returning in late July for an unofficial visit. The DC lineman was back in College Park to watch Maryland’s Friday night win over Virginia in week three with the Terps a familiar face in the early stages of his recruitment. This past weekend solidified Maryland as a contender in his recruitment.

“I’m definitely interested in Maryland. I’m keeping every option open but meeting with coach Braswell, I was a little unsure about it at first, but then talking with coach Braswell that definitely strengthened that. I have a very positive outlook on Maryland.”

James Madison became the newest offer on Tuesday while Boston College, Pitt and Virginia Tech are among the Power Five offers. Virginia became the newest Power Five offer back on the first day of the early signing period and they’re the lone visit set on Reid’s schedule with an unofficial visit set for Jan. 27th.

Grayson Reid is rated a three-star prospect and an 86 overall by On3, checking in as the 61st-best interior lineman in the country.
