Watch: Locksley, Players Recap 34-27 Loss to Michigan

Maryland football fell in its first Big Ten game of the 2022 season on Saturday in a 34-27 game at fourth-ranked Michigan. Maryland kept the game within one score for the bulk of the afternoon but fell short in the fourth quarter. “Like I told our team, we don't believe in moral victories,” Locksley said following the loss. “Close is not good enough, but I'm proud of the way our team fought. I like the effort that we play with. We faced adversity throughout the game, including spotting them a touchdown there right at the beginning, which, you know, as I've said here, good teams don't need help and we sure gave them a cheap, easy one right off the bat.” Quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa was banged up in the loss but returned to the game, while receiver Rakim Jarrett went down with four minutes remaining in the third quarter and did not return.
