Maryland landed its first offensive line pledge in the 2025 class on Tuesday night when St. Joseph’s Prep (PA) IOL Kahlil Stewart went public with his pledge, but the Terps also saw an upperclassman depart from the program. Reserve offensive lineman Khris Love entered the transfer portal on Tuesday evening after four seasons with the program. Love appeared in two games during his time with Maryland, first against Howard in the 2021 season then again in the season-opening win vs. Towson to open the 2023 season. Still, the Florida native wasn’t expected to crack the starting rotation in 2024. Maryland signed Aliou Bah (Georgia) and Alan Herron (Shorter-DII) out of the transfer portal in December then Josh Kaltenberger (Purdue) while Kyle Long returns to bolster the interior offensive line. Offensive line coach Brian Braswell will look ahead to the spring to solidify its core of starters while the staff awaits the next round of portal entries to find another starting tackle. Offensive lineman Tamarus Walker is also entering his second season where he’ll look to learn from Kaltenberger as the primary backup at center before competing to take over the job in 2025. Originally a three-star prospect out of American Heritage (FL), Khris Love flipped from USF to Maryland in the 2020 recruiting class and was previously named a two-time Broward All-Conference selection.
