We take a look at how Terps fared in week eight of the NFL season:
For the second week in a row and the third time in four games, Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland knocked in the game-winning field goal and drilled a 34-yarder with no time remaining, completing the comeback win over the Dolphins. He made another kick from 57 yards out and both of his extra-point attempts.
In his first game back from IR, Rakim Jarrett caught all three of his targets for 58 yards as the Bucs fell to the division-rival Falcons 31-26. With Chris Godwin and Mike Evans out, the Bucs hope the second-year receiver steps up.
“For him to come back off of surgery and only have practiced [for] the week and then come in and play and make some plays like that and some tough catches says a lot about him," head coach Todd Bowles said on Monday. "He's a tough kid, he has outstanding hands in traffic and to come off an injury like that and not having practiced a full fall or summer and everything else, he did a heck of a job.”
While Michael Dunn didn’t start he was in for the Browns’ 29-24 win over the Ravens. Quinton Jefferson was inactive. Beau Brade was active for the Ravens but didn’t record any stats. Yannick Ngakoue recorded two QB hits and .5 sacks but Baltimore barely got any pressure on Jameis Winston with the secondary playing their worst game of the season.
TE Chig Okonkwo caught two passes for 14 yards as the Titans were throttled by the Lions 52-14. Tennessee outgained the Lions by almost 200 yards and won the time of possession. But four turnovers and poor special teams play is what did them in. Tackle Jaelyn Duncan was placed on IR.
Jaguars safety Darnell Savage faced off against his old team, the Packers, and finished with six tackles. Green Bay escaped with a win coming from a last-second field goal.
Stefon Diggs led the Texans in receiving with five catches for 81 yards before going down with a knee injury in a 23-20 win over the division-rival Colts. Indianapolis safety Nick Cross had seven tackles. Diggs’ status for the rest of the season is in jeopardy after he’s already been ruled out for the week nine matchup vs. the Jets after undergoing an MRI on Monday.
Despite giving up a safety in the first quarter, the Chargers came out on top against the Saints 26-8. Cornerback Tarheeb Still had three tackles.
RB Ty Johnson had one target in the Bills 31-10 road win over Seattle.
Vegas receiver DJ Turner caught his first touchdown pass of the season, one of four catches for 28 yards and a rush for four yards in a 27-20 loss to the Chiefs. Corner Jakorian Bennett had six tackles and DJ Glaze started on the offensive line, as the Raiders have now dropped four in a row.
49ers defensive lineman Sam Okuayinonu made a huge impact on Monday Night football recording a sack, tackle for loss, and three QB hits in a 30-24 win over Dallas.
CB Deonte Banks had a pass break-up in the Giants' Monday loss vs Pittsburgh but saw his playing time trimmed after being benched in the second quarter. “Just thought needed a little bit more on that series,” said head coach Brian Daboll. “Had a conversation with him. Went with the other guys.”
Spencer Anderson was in as a reserve lineman for the Steelers.
