With one week left of the NFL preseason, Ravens safety Beau Brade continues to make his case for being included on the team’s 53-man roster into this weekend. The undrafted rookie finished with a team-high eight tackles and an interception that was called back after a review as the Ravens picked up their first win of the preseason over the Falcons. This combined with his performance in the first game could have allowed him to get the final safety spot.  Teammate Corey Bullock is battling for the backup right guard spot after making a great impression in week one with the second-highest PFF grade from the team.
Vikings receiver Jeshaun Jones had a big play of his own, taking his only reception 71 yards for a touchdown. That could go a long way for him as he looks to make the team as an undrafted rookie.
Raiders Tackle DJ Glaze has been getting praise from the coaching staff after using a third round on him in this year’s draft. He could be in line to start. Glaze’s teammate in Las Vegas corner Jakorian Bennett recorded two tackles in their loss to the Cowboys. Fellow corner Ja’quan Sheppard didn’t record any stats.
Titans tackle Jaelyn Duncan struggled against the Seahawks giving up a sack and was called for a false start. In a win against the Chiefs, Lions running back Jake Funk carried the ball eight times for 13 yards and caught two passes for 27 yards. He’s in a fight to make the final roster. As is Seahawks tight end Tyler Mabry, who caught his only pass for nine yards. Broncos linebacker Durell Nchami and 49ers defensive tackle Sam Okuayinonu are each on the bubble as well, and both recorded one tackle in their win over the Packers and Saints, respectively.
Bills running back Ty Johnson gained six yards on one carry in their win over the Steelers. On the other side, offensive lineman Spencer Anderson continues to show off his versatility for the Steelers.
Two starting wide receivers who saw limited time this week were the Texans’ Stefon Diggs and DJ Moore of the Bears. In a Texans-Giants, matchup Diggs caught one pass for nine yards, as he looks for his seventh straight 1,000-yard season. Giants corner Deonte Banks knocked one down one pass in the game. In the Bears’ win over the Bengals Moore only saw one target, while his teammate, defensive lineman Byron Cowart made one tackle.
Colts safety Nick Cross had a tackle for loss, along with five tackles in a win against the Cardinals. The former third-round pick hopes to be in the starting lineup come week one. Chargers rookie corner Tarheeb Still also had five tackles and defended a pass in the team’s loss to the Rams. Selected in the fourth round of this year’s draft, Still could be in for a big role early on.
In the Patriots’ loss to the Eagles kicker Chad Ryland made his only extra-point attempt as he’s in a preseason battle with Joey Slye. In other news, tackle Gottlieb Ayedze was signed by Philadelphia following the game.
