With the start of NBA free agency quickly approaching with the negotiating window now open, one Terp has inked a return deal while another is in line for a long-term deal. Former Maryland star Alex Len is set to return to the Sacramento Kings on a one-year, $3.3 million deal, per Shams Charania, marking his fourth consecutive season with the Kings. Len, who averaged seven points across his 11-year career, averaged 2.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in just over nine minutes per game while playing in 48 contests during the 2023-24 season. Len returns to the Kings' frontcourt alongside Harrison Barnes and Trey Lyles as a rotational big, while Kevin Huerter is set to return after suffering a season-ending left shoulder injury in late March. Len proved himself as a valuable backup to star center Domantas Sabonis after entrenching himself as one of the Kings' true rim protectors. While Len entrenches himself into NBA vet status, former Maryland wing Aaron Wiggins could be next in line after the Oklahoma City Thunder declined his $2M 2024-25 team option. Wiggins averaged seven points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 49.2% from the floor last season, but found himself sporadically in the Thunder's rotation through their playoff run. After the Thunder traded Josh Giddey for Bulls guard Alex Caruso, Wiggins could be in line for a bigger role in 2024-25 as the Thunder are now expected to work on a long-term deal in July. After playing in all but four games in 2023-24, Wiggins recorded career-highs from three (49.2%) despite starting in a career-low four games for a Thunder squad to finish with the best record in the Western Conference. Wiggins is the latest NBA Draft pick for Maryland after he was selected with the 55th overall pick by the Thunder in the 2021 NBA Draft. Related Links
