With official visit season winding down and commitment season quickly approaching, one target is set to make his decision exactly one week from today.
MG Academy (FL) three-star defensive lineman Cam Brickle is set to announce his commitment next Saturday, June 28 among a final four including Florida State, Maryland, Ohio State and Penn State.
The Buckeyes kicked off the month with Brickle’s first official visit where Ohio State remains a wildcard in the race before the Pennsylvania native made the trek to Florida State the weekend of June 6. Penn State marks Brickle’s fourth and final official visit as the Nittany Lions host the 6-foot-2, 295-pound defensive tackle target this weekend, June 20, with a potential regional battle brewing.
Assistant James Thomas and defensive GA David Brownlee have led efforts for Maryland and after making his way to College Park for a game in 2024 then returning for spring practice, Brickle got a closer look at Maryland during his official visit beginning June 12.
“Honestly just the connection off the field. They’re very authentic and they just treat me really well. And when it comes down to the football part, they’re building something over there. It just has to be a lot of kids that’s highly ranked to take the chance,” Brickle previously told IBG.
Brickle’s official visit gave him a chance to dive into his fit with defensive line coach Corey Liuget and defensive coordinator Ted Monachino. “Definitely glad I got up there. It was really good to spend time with coach [David] Brownlee but it was good to spend time with all the coaches, really. The [defensive] coordinator, coach Ted [Monachino], coach Corey [Liuget],” Brickle told IBG. “We were talking about the football and life, really a little bit of everything.”
Brickle posted 41 tackles, 8 TFLs and four sacks. After spending his freshman and junior season at Malvern Prep (Pa), Brickle has transferred to IMG Academy (FL) for his senior season.
He is rated a three-star and 87 overall by On3.
