Preseason Big Ten Poll Released Ahead of Media Day

Writer: Ahmed GhafirAhmed Ghafir

Big Ten media day is set to begin on Tuesday, July 26 with head coach Mike Locksley set to take the podium at 11:15 AM while cornerback Jakorian Bennett, wide receiver Rakim Jarrett and quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa will be available at 4:15 PM. Locksley will also join the Big Ten Network studio at 1:45 PM. Maryland now enters year four under Locksley and after coming off the first bowl appearance since 2016 and first bowl win since 2010, the 2022 Terps will look to make consecutive bowl games for the first time since the 2013 and 2014 seasons.

Maryland opens up the season on September 3 against Buffalo for a noon kickoff before traveling to Charlotte then hosting SMU ahead of conference play, but with an experienced group of returning starters on offense, can the Terps take the next step?

Due to the Big Ten not holding an official preseason poll, Cleveland.com tallied votes from 36 writers for its 12th annual preseason Big Ten football poll as Maryland falls in familiar territory. Here are the picks:
