Pair of former Terps inducted into BCL Hall of Fame

Former Maryland basketball starters Sean Mosley and Will Bowers were among ten former players inducted into the Baltimore Catholic League (BCL) Basketball Hall of Fame on Thursday evening. Sean Mosley shined as a top-100 prospect at St. Frances before transitioning to Maryland, while former Archbishop Spalding big Will Bowers was named to the Baltimore Sun’s All-Metro first team as a senior before becoming a rotational piece in the frontcourt in College Park. Mosley and Bowers were honored alongside former Virginia Tech guard Malcolm Delany and current Raptors guard Immanuel Quickley, while new Arkansas head coach John Calipari served as the keynote speaker for the event. Bowers started in 11 games over his career as a Terp where he averaged two points in just over two minutes per game, while he played in all but one game his sophomore season. The local big man drew his first career start in a road win against then-second-ranked Duke back on Jan. 26, posting four points, seven boards and a pair of blocks in 23 minutes. Sean Mosley was one of the final prized additions under then-head coach Gary Williams, signing with the hometown team as a top-100 prospect out of nearby St. Frances (MD). Mosley became an immediate contributor for the Terps after starting in just under half the games as a freshman, averaging just over five points per game, before filling the starting rotation alongside Greivis Vasquez and Eric Hayes during the 2009-10 season en route to a share of the ACC regular-season title. With Jordan Williams returning to the frontcourt, Mosley filled in as the team leader as a junior after being voted co-captain alongside Baltimore native Dino Gregory. Mosley led the team in steals (41) and averaged just over eight points per game on 41.3% shooting in what ended up being the final year of the Gary Williams era. Mosley averaged a career-high 10.2 points per game in the first season under then-head coach Mark Turgeon.
