Three weeks after backing off his Miami (FL) pledge and reopening his recruitment, Gadsden County (FL) three-star offensive tackle Lamar Williams is ready to pick his recruiting back up with three official visits set in June. Williams, a 6-foot-5, 271-pound tackle, will begin his round of visits with a trip to Maryland the weekend of June 7 before hitting UCF the weekend of June 14 then wrapping up at Houston the weekend of June 21. While more schools could find themselves added to Williams' summer schedule with Florida State among those showing interest, the Florida lineman knows why Maryland is on his list. "They treat me like family. They also text my mom a bunch, do a good job keeping up with her and building relationship with her too. They usually talk to my mom, give her the information about Maryland too," he told IBG. The upcoming official will mark Williams' first trip to College Park as co-defensive coordinator Brian Williams and coordinator of player personnel Marcus Thomas have led the way dating back to the start of the lineman's junior season as they've worked to get him on campus. " My head coach, he's friends with a lot of the staff and is close with too," he added. "They were recruiting me hard even before I committed to Miami. Now that I'm back out, they're hitting me up hard now. I was talking with coach Williams." Offensive line coach Brian Braswell has been able to chip away with the tackle target as the two sides also reconnected on Tuesday. "Just getting to know each other but we've hopped on the phone a few times." While UCF has remained a familiar spot in his recruitment, his final set visit will also serve as the first time Williams has ventured out to Houston. The three-star lineman isn't planning on making a decision during those visits, however, with no imminent timeframe coming out of his reworked recruitment. "Nothing set in stone yet. I'm still looking at more schools. I'll probably take it into the fall." He explains one aspect he's looking ahead to learning more about his top suitors. "Just the education. Seeing what it's like, majors, academic plan." Lamar Williams is rated a three-star prospect and an 87 overall by On3, checking in as the 87th-best prospect in Florida.
