Maryland beats SEC foes for latest pledge out of Tennessee

Maryland football now has its 21st pledge of the 2027 class.

Rockvale (TN) three-star edge rusher Dallas Pauldo has announced his commitment to Maryland over a final group including Arkansas and Missouri, giving the program another strong recruiting win on the trail.

Maryland was the last school to host Pauldo, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound edge rusher, after he arrived for an official visit to College Park beginning June 19. His visit came two weeks after his teammate and current Maryland commit, DL Jayden Agberodiola, also visited College Park, while the Rockvale duo also visited together for the Spring Showcase back in late April.

Pauldo also becomes the fourth commitment out of Tennessee this cycle alongside Agberodiola, linebacker 'Duke' Clark and defensive lineman Zeke Walkup as defensive backs assistant Nick Newsome has paved the way on efforts to expand the staff's footprint into SEC territory. The four commitments are the most the program has ever landed since at least the late 1990s.

The Tenn. product materialized into an All-Region selection after notching 209 yards and a pair of TDs on 21 catches, Pauldo was a two-way starter where he also tallied 33 tackles and four sacks as an edge rusher. Pauldo will head to college on the defensive side of the ball with Newsome and defensive coordinator Ted Monachino ramping up efforts through the spring into OV season for the All-Area selection.

Pauldo becomes the latest in a class headlined by a pair of four-stars in defensive back Kenaz Sullivan and wide receiver Myles McAfee, while the latest Tenn. pledge joins the bulk of the 2027 class expected to enroll in College Park in January.
