NBC currently scheduled to feature two Maryland football road games

Maryland football is currently slated to have its road games against Michigan State and Nebraska featured on NBC, according to Brett McMurphy. https://twitter.com/Brett_McMurphy/status/1684236337237438477?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet Maryland’s first game on NBC’s Big Ten coverage this season is set for September 23 when they head to East Lansing, Michigan to face Michigan State for a 3:30 PM kickoff. The Spartans enter the season with several questions on the offensive side of the ball as Mel Tucker prepares for his fourth season as Michigan State’s head coach. While the Spartans boast experience on the offensive line with four returning starters, who gets the nod under center remains a mystery with Noah Kim and Katin Houser battling heading into the fall, while they lose their dynamic receiver in Keon Coleman. The Spartans also return seven starters on the defensive side of the ball, giving Maryland an early test on the road. Maryland’s road game against Nebraska is also currently scheduled to be featured on NBC in the first matchup between the two teams since 2019 when the Huskers dominated the Terps, 54-7, in the home finale to wrap up Mike Locksley’s first season. This season’s matchup, however, will have an entirely different feel to it. Matt Rhule enters his first season as Nebraska’s head coach and after returning 15 starters, the aggressive Husker staff went out into the portal to add multiple projected impact players like QB Jeff Simms (Georgia Tech), LB MJ Sherman (Georgia), WR Billy Kemp (Virginia) and TE Arik Gilbert (Georgia) to fill key holes. Maryland-Nebraska could also be the preseason favorite for the Big Ten’s highest scoring game this fall with both teams flashing talent across the two-deep heading into August, along with offensive-minded head coaches in Locksley and Rhule clashing.
