Michigan Linebacker Recaps Camp, Trip to Maryland

St. Mary’s (MI) three-star linebacker Jordan Cannon has had a busy start to June as he’s taken in four camps so far.

First stop was Eastern Michigan on June 1 followed by a camp at Ferris State on June 3. Cannon then made the trip down to Maryland for a one-on-one evaluation and tour with inside linebackers coach Brawley Evans. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound inside linebacker was impressed with what he saw on campus ahead of his workout.

“It went really well. The tour was nice, I like the campus, I like the city as well. If I want to go to a college, I want a good city to be around and I feel like it’s a nice area there. The weight room was nice, they had a lot of new things,” Cannon told Inside the Black and Gold. “It was a nice visit all-around, and it was a good workout with coach [Brawley] Evans.” While offensive coordinator Dan Enos has tapped into his Michigan ties to lead the way with Cannon, he also noted what stuck out about his potential position coach on the trip.

“He’s a real good guy. He’s down to earth, kept it real with me and he’s a real funny coach. Just very energetic and it seems like he knows what he’s doing, which is good I believe they’re supposed to be evaluating me and then hit me up with more info because after that, they have to see how they feel.”

Cannon camped at Northwestern on Monday and has a handful more camps he’ll be heading to. “I think I’m going to go on the bus tour to the Tennessee camp for Sound Mind Sound Body. I don’t know if I’m going to the Kentucky camp coming up, still questionable on that. I’ll be going to Air Force, and I’ll be setting up a Marshall visit.” With schools now open to host prospects, Cannon is taking full advantage.

“I’m not trying to sit back and wait for anything; I need to go out and get it so I want to hit as many camps as I can.”

Cannon is rated a three-star prospect and an 85 overall by 247Sports, sitting as the 29th-best prospect in Michigan.
