Maryland WR Tai Felton named AP All-American

The postseason accolades keep pouring in for former Maryland wide receiver Tai Felton after he was named an AP All-American on Monday.

Felton was named a Third Team All-American alongside Jayden Higgins (Iowa State), Jordyn Tyson (Arizona State) and Eric Rivers (FIU). Nick Nash (San Jose St.), Tetairoa McMillan (Arizona) and Xavier Restrepo (Miami) were named First Team with Travis Hunter (Colorado), Tre Harris (Ole Miss) and Jeremiah Smith (Ohio State) named Second Team.

Felton becomes the first Terp to draw AP All-American honors since Brad Craddock did so in 2014. The former wideout was named an AFCA Second-Team All-American selection last week alongside Alabama WR Ryan Williams and Ohio St. WR Jeremiah Smith, becoming the first AFCA All-American since Tre Watson in 2018.

Felton ended his 2024 season leading the Big Ten in both receptions (96) and receiving yards (1,124) as he became the fourth player in program history to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in a single season. He also set a single-season program record with his 96 receptions, while he ranks third all-time in career catches (172), fourth in receiving yards (2,207) and tied for fourth in receiving touchdowns (17). Felton also set the single-game record with 14 receptions in the week four win vs. Villanova while he posted five games with at least 100 receiving yards, doing a lot of the dirty work for Maryland QB Billy Edwards Jr. with the passing game a consistent struggle in 2024.

Felton is set to suit up in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on Feb. 1 before participating in the 2025 NFL Combine in Indianapolis on Feb. 24.
