Maryland tight end Preston Howard announced his entry into the transfer portal on Friday, ending his time with the program.
Â
Howard posted 35 catches for 337 receiving yards across two seasons with the program, starting in 20 games and appearing in 23. His lone touchdown as a Terp came against Auburn in the Music City Bowl win following the 2023 season.
Â
Howard marks the latest departure for Maryland, but was expected with his status increasingly uncertain through the week. Sources told IBG that Ole Miss is expected to be a contender for Howard, a former three-star signee out of McDonogh where he played quarterback, while Baylor is another who has shown interest.
