Riverdale Baptist (MD) offensive tackle Jayvon McFadden was back in action on Sunday where the 6-foot-4, 290-pound lineman showcased why he’s among the area’s top linemen. It’s no surprise the four-star has a long list of schools chasing him, but a handful have stuck out above the rest. McFadden tells IBG that Ohio State, Colorado, Penn State, Maryland, South Carolina and Florida are among the schools under consideration, but he’s still in the process of finalizing what the next steps in his recruitment looks like. “I want to have it decided by senior year but I want to narrow it down. I’m on the verge of doing that now and narrowing it down.” Ohio State is the lone school set to host the four-star for an official visit beginning on May 31 but McFadden added that’ll be the first of many. “I’m going to take them all back-to-back weeks.” McFadden was back in Boulder for their spring game in late April as Colorado is a major player in the race. The relationship between McFadden and Jordan Seaton, Buffs freshman and fellow DC native, carries weight in his recruitment as Seaton was back in Baltimore reconnecting with his close friend during Sunday’s camp. Maryland, meanwhile, has worked to prioritize McFadden since his recruitment began as an underclassman as assistants Kevin Sumlin and Aazaar Abdul-Rahim team up. While McFadden didn’t make his way to campus through the spring, he’s confident he’ll be back in College Park in June. “I’ll be going up to Maryland very soon. They have something going on – ‘hashtag’ vitamin water.” Jayvon McFadden is rated a four-star prospect and a 90 overall by On3, while also ranked as the tenth-best prospect in Maryland.
