Maryland men's basketball is set to unofficially kick off year two of the Buzz Williams era on day two of Big Ten Media Day in Illinois.

Point guard DJ Wagner and forward Robert Jennings II are set to join head coach Buzz Williams to preview the upcoming 2026-27 regular season with Buzz Williams and the players set to join the BTN set at 3:15 PM. Wagner and Jennings will also join SiriusXM radio at 2:45 PM before Buzz Williams joins at 3:30 PM ET, though Thursday will mark the first offseason comments for Buzz Williams after a disaster first season in College Park.

Jennings and Wagner represent two of multiple impact additions to the roster with all eyes on whether it's enough for Maryland to return to the NCAA Tournament for just the third time since the 2022-23 season.

Williams will have an opportunity to set the tone during his interview and ahead of a prove it year amid heightened expectations and pressure after a letdown 2025-26 regular season. Maryland is expected to host its local media day at the end of the month, while Maryland already announced promos for a pair of conference games, including Gary Williams Bobblehead Night on Jan. 16 against Illinois. The '02 national championship team will also join former head caoch Gary Williams for a ceremony during the Feb. 13 matchup against Indiana, who fell short against the Terps in the title game.

Maryland will host the first of two exhibitions this upcoming weekend when they face Georgia Tech on Sunday, Oct. 11 at the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena in Baltimore, Md., before hosting West Virginia in College Park for the second and final exhibition next Sunday, Oct. 18.
