Maryland football has added its second running back commitment and third overall portal commitment of the offseason after landing former USC running back Harry Dalton III.
Dalton left the Trojans after one year where he posted eight carries for 44 yards, but with four years left, adds to depth in the running back room. The Virginia native joins the room that received a big boost with veteran ODU transfer Trequan Jones becoming the first portal commitment, along with Iverson Howard building on his freshman season and Bud Coombs ready to make his debut as a two-sport athlete when he suits up for Maryland baseball in the spring.
Maryland extended Dalton an offer out of high school as a three-star out of Dinwiddie County (VA) with assistant Latrell Scott leading efforts as area recruiter, ultimately becoming one of multiple running backs in the Trojans' 2025 running back room.
Dalton joins Jones and Old Dominion wide receiver Na'heem Gladding, who committed to Maryland on Tuesday morning.
He also becomes the latest Virginia native on the roster that returns several key pieces including Dorian Fleming, Messiah Delhomme, Jaylen Gilchrist and CJ Smith among others.
