Months after welcoming the first batch of high school additions, Maryland football welcomes the remainder of its 2025 class beginning today, June 14.
Four-star edge Zahir Mathis became the 21st and final high school signee in the 2025 class, cementing a consensus top-35 class, including 27th on Rivals, the program’s highest-ranked class since 2021. The signed class also includes seven prospects inside the ESPN300, the program’s most in the ESPN rankings era.
The incoming summer signees include a trio of linemen in Amory Hills, who elevates the floor at the center position, and a pair of tackle targets in Lamar Williams and Ben Beymer while Bud Coombs arrives as a two-sport star where he's also expected to play baseball for the Terps under head coach Matt Swope. Justin DeVaughn, fresh off another track and field state championship, will also likely suit up as a two-sport athlete where the Baltimore speedster looks to add a different type of speed to the receiver room before joining head coach Travis Valmon in track and field.
JT Taggart, a long tight end with a wingspan over 80-inches, adds a type of body to the tight end room that the program hasn't seen since Joey Haynos in the late 2000s as the son of former FSU HC and current Ravens assistant Willie Taggart arrives on Saturday. Florida athlete Travares Daniels became a key win for Maryland during the final OV weekend as he heads to College Park to round out the inside linebacker room under Zac Spavial.
Of course, the haul wouldn't be complete without Archbishop Spalding flavor as DB Jayden Shipps and DL Delmar White rejoin QB Malik Washington as teammates now in College Park.
