Maryland football returns to action this upcoming weekend for a 3:30 PM kickoff on BTN against Washington, the first of two consecutive home games before heading across the country to face UCLA. Maryland will also do so as underdogs for the second consecutive conference play.
Maryland opened as a 5.5-point underdog, per DraftKings, with the Terps initially a seven-point underdog prior to Washington’s week five loss. Maryland is 3-1 against the spread this season.
While Saturday marks the first between the two as Big Ten teams, this marks the first matchup between the two teams since the 1982 Aloha Bowl when the Terps walked out of Honolulu with a 21-20 loss.
After opening the season with wins against Colorado State, UC Davis and Washington State, Washington is coming off their first loss of the season after Ohio State controlled Saturday’s contest in a 24-6 finish. The offensive line will look to bounce back after doubling their season total in sacks allowed (12) against the Buckeyes, but the Huskies will head to College Park with firepower on offense as they average over 410 yards of total offense per game.
RB Jonah Coleman marks one of the best backs Maryland’s defense will face in 2025, while WR Denzel Boston will look to challenge an athletic Maryland secondary with QB Demond Williams coming off his second consecutive game completing at least 80% of his passes.
Maryland will look to move to 5-0 for just the second time since 2001 as they open the 2025 season with five of their first six games in College Park.
