Maryland football is less than 24 hours removed from landing its first offensive line commit of the 2026 cycle, doing so after flipping Willis (TX) four-star IOL Day’jon Moore from Pitt.
“It just made more sense and the area of the school just fit me little [better] than Pitt and I love coach Locks and the staff way more than Pitt #terpsforlife,” Moore told IBG about his decision to flip.
Now, Maryland will look to make it two offensive line commits with Imhotep (PA) three-star offensive tackle Jesse Moody all set to announce his commitment on the afternoon of July 5.
Moody, a 6-foot-6, 341-pound offensive tackle, was initially set to announce his commitment on June 25 before postponing until today. While Wake Forest and Virginia Tech battled to get involved, Maryland was the final school to host the Philly product for an official visit after making his way to College Park beginning June 12. Rutgers, who hosted Moody the week prior, was the only other school to host Moody for an official visit as a Big Ten battle brews, but Maryland will look to add its second target out of Imhotep in as many cycles with former four-star edge Zahir Mathis expected to play a big role in the 2025 defense.
“Definitely very experienced guys to be able to elevate my game, was able to help me understand a lot of things and terminology. They just showcased their great coaches and being around a great environment,” Moody told IBG after his OV.
Jesse Moody is rated a three-star and 86 overall by On3.
