Maryland basketball jumps into the mix for Texas guard

Maryland has expanded their 2025 recruiting board since the contact period began last Thursday. One prospect they jumped into the mix for was Jeremiah Green, a 6-foot-3 point guard out of Guyer High School (TX) who also suits up for ProSkills on the Nike EYBL Circuit. Green has seen a barrage of offers from premier universities across the country due to his explosive hops, his ability to apply finesse around the rim to convert crafty finishes, his elite handles and his lethal shooting, both in the midrange and from deep. Florida State, Arkansas, Kansas State, UTSA, Texas Tech, LSU, Alabama, West Virginia, Arizona, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Houston, SMU, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Colorado, Rice, UCLA, Auburn, Maryland, Kansas and Mizzou all reached out to Green with Kansas, Maryland, Rice, and Texas Tech extending offers. Assistant David Cox was the lead recruiter for the Terps as there’s a level of familiarity. “It wasn’t that long of a conversation but he was talking about how he loves my game and he wanted to give me an offer to Maryland. Then he said that he wants to get me in front of coach Willard sometime soon,” Green told IBG. “He didn’t say anything about a visit. But I would definitely like to take a visit and I've got a lot of family from Maryland too. I’ve been to Maryland a lot when I was younger so I’m pretty familiar with it. But I’m not too familiar with the program and history, I remember watching the team with Melo Trimble some though.” Green noted that Texas A&M, Kansas State, Houston, LSU, and UCLA have done well reaching out as he looks to take the next step with visits this summer. Green doesn’t have anything planned yet but knows what he’s looking for when he evaluates his top suitors. “Coaching/play style, player development, and how they see me contributing to their team.” Green is rated a three-star prospect and an 89 overall by On3, sitting as the 85th-best prospect in the country. On3 is the lone network to rate Green a three-star with ESPN, Rivals and 247 all rating the ball-handler as a four-star.
