Another slew of local visitors will trickle into Maryland Stadium on Friday night as Maryland welcomes fifth-ranked Iowa inside ‘The Shell.’
2023 top-100 athlete Nyckoles Harbor is among the headliners for tonight as the 6-foot-5 physical specimen returns for his second home game this fall. Harbor and teammate Joseph Mupoyi took in Maryland’s week two win over Howard where Harbor, a four-star prospect, was able to take in a full, in-depth visit with the staff before enjoying a one-on-one conversation with head coach Mike Locksley. “It was a great experience. Me, my mom, and my friend [Joseph Mupoyi] went up there and my mom loved coach Locks and then coach [Elijah] Brooks was entertaining. My girl liked it too so we were all happy as a group, so we’re really considering Maryland now,” he said back on September 16.
The Terps elevated their chances on the first visit and will look for another strong showing tonight to keep the dynamic athlete close to home. He’ll be joined by St. John’s (DC) four-star DE/OLB David Ojiegbe, who has made College Park a frequent stop through the summer into fall while a pair of his teammates in receiver Sean Williams three-star safety Zahbari Sandy will bask in his first trip to College Park. Bishop Ireton (VA) three-star athlete Jamie Kaiser will also return to Maryland for his second visit after tabbing the Terps as his top school on the football side. But Kaiser, another 6-foot-5 athlete, is also a standout basketball prospect and how his recruitment develops in hoops will play a role for the next level.
Irvington (NJ) three-star wide receiver Nasir Addison will make his second trip to Maryland to-date after visiting over the summer with Notre Dame verbal Adon Shuler. Cornerbacks coach Henry Baker has done well in his recruitment as the Terps see him as a wide receiver at the next level. Friday will give him a chance to watch offense up close. “Their offense is like the offense I run now. It’s a lot of screen plays and let the guys get into open space, try and let the athletes just run free,” he said last month.
Across the 2024 class, Inside the Black and Gold previously reported top-100 prospect Jordan Seaton set to visit this weekend as the Terps are well-positioned in his recruitment early. St. John’s running back Da’Juan Riggs and linebacker Montay Weedon are two more who will also be in College Park while Rock Creek (MD) offensive tackle Mike Williams is back in town for his second trip to College Park.
Maryland extended a verbal offer to 2025 St. John’s (DC) offensive lineman Jayvon McFadden as he’ll arrive for his first gameday visit.
Kickoff is set for 8 PM tonight.
