The expectation has now materialized: Isaiah Watts has officially entered the transfer portal, per On3.
Watts becomes the fourth departure for head coach Buzz Williams and Maryland men's basketball this week, joining Nick Blake, Aleks Alston and Jaziah Harper.
Yet for Watts, it marks an expected development given the need to upgrade the roster.
In his lone season with the program, Watts averaged 4.3 points in 17 minutes per game while shooting 33.8% from the field and 29.3% from three - both career lows. A streaky 6-foot-3 shooter, his final game with the program marked his fourth double figures scoring game of the season after finishing with 12 points in 18 minutes, all on made threes.
Watts arrived in College Park after two seasons at Washington State, including a 2024-25 season when he averaged 11 points in nearly 29 minutes per game.
Including the incoming four-man recruiting class, Maryland has ten scholarships filled in the 2026-27 season with all eyes on incoming additions.
