As more recruits throughout the 2025 class begin shifting focus to the final stage in their recruitments, Maryland made the cut for another regional target on Thursday evening after Warwick (VA) four-star safety Messiah Delhomme released his final six schools. Delhomme, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound athlete, included Maryland alongside Alabama, Ohio State, Syracuse, Virginia and Virginia Tech. Maryland has prioritized the blue-chip safety through his junior season as running backs coach and area recruiter Latrell Scott leads the charge. "They’ve been really good about keeping up with me and making me a priority for them," he told IBG in the spring. Delhomme made his way to College Park for the Illinois game last fall before returning in the spring for a weekend practice, where he got a chance to reconnect with freshman linebacker "Trey" Reddick while getting a closer look at how he fits into the Terps' defense. “They told me to watch number 12 ,” Delhomme told IBG after his visit. “It’s definitely a good scheme I fit into. I was mainly watching the safeties get at it then after that I was watching them against the running backs and receivers.” Delhomme will kick off his round of official visits starting Friday with an official visit to Virginia Tech. He'll officially visit Virginia the weekend of June 7 and Ohio State the weekend of June 14 before he returns to College Park for his official visit the weekend of June 21. Delhomme previously told IBG he will bunker down into decision mode following his official visits. Messiah Delhomme is rated a four-star prospect and a 90 overall by On3, checking in as the seventh-best prospect in Virginia and the nation's 11th-best athlete.
