Four-Star RB Sees Fit During Visit to Maryland

St. Frances was in the building ahead of Saturday’s game versus Purdue but 2024 four-star running back Dejuan Williams took in College Park with his mom and remains high on Maryland.

“I’ve been there plenty of times. I’ve been to a game before but this is my first game this year,” Williams told Inside the Black and Gold. Maryland had several drives stall in the 31-29 loss, but were able to muster together a handful of explosive plays. Williams knows that the offense has been able to perform for the bulk of the season and the ability to make plays in all facets of the offense and that resonates.

“Their offense, they look pretty good. That’s what I like to see. I know they lost but overall, it was still a good game.” Inside linebacker coach Lance Thompson also greeted the Baltimore studs upon arrival while running backs coach Elijah Brooks got one-on-one time with the four-star prospect, but there was another coach that Williams was happy to see.

“I talked to coach Lance and Elijah and coach Mike Locksley. It was a pleasure to talk with coach Locksley, he’s the OG.” What’s been the message from the staff thus far? “They told me I’m at the top of their list in the 2024 class.”

Williams explains what he likes about Maryland. “The offense, the running backs, they’re shifty and they come out to catch the ball. The offense is still explosive. It’s a great school. My mom likes it. She wants me to stay home. She wants me to go to Maryland.”

Williams will visit Penn State later this month for its blackout game while he’s interested in visiting USC this fall.
