After taking reps as an offensive tackle during Sunday’s UA Camp in Baltimore, Friendship (DC) four-star Bryce Jenkins is heading into the final stretch in his recruitment as schools evaluate him on both sides of the ball. Rutgers became the newest addition to his official visit schedule as the Scarlet Knights are set to host the 6-foot-5, 326-pound lineman first beginning May 31. “Talking to Kayon Whitaker, he went to Friendship so we have a relationship so I’m giving them consideration. That’s why I’m taking the official visit to get that one-on-one time with the coaches.” Jenkins is set to officially visit South Carolina the weekend of June 7 before heading to Maryland the weekend of June 14. The DC native tells IBG that Maryland continues to recruit him on the defensive side of the ball, while the four-star was back in College Park for multiple spring practices before returning for the spring game as the Terps remain in the picture. “It was fun, I liked it up there. Got a chance to talk to a lot of people up there.” Maryland has been in hot pursuit with Aazaar Abdul-Rahim, current Terps’ assistant and former Friendship head coach, spearheading efforts while Tennessee has a connection given his dad once suited up for the Vols’ in basketball. After making his way to Knoxville both in the fall and spring, Tennessee is set to host Jenkins for an official visit the weekend of June 21 but there’s a possibility he adds to his schedule before bunkering down into decision mode. “I might add two more. One might be Colorado but I’m not sure yet.” Bryce Jenkins is expected to commit this summer and is rated a four-star prospect and a 91 overall by On3, checking in as the third-best prospect in DC.
