Orlando Christian Prep (FL) offensive tackle Demetrius Campbell is in the midst of track season where the 6-foot-6, 300-pound lineman is competing in shotput, but he’ll hit the road for visits next month and Maryland is on his shortlist of destinations. “I’m traveling with my 5-on-5 team so I'll be up there April 26-28,” Campbell told IBG. The Florida native is already familiar with College Park having visited twice in the past, most recently for the home game vs. Penn State back in November, but the Terps have been among his most consistent suitors since then with outside linebacker coach James Thomas leading the way. https://twitter.com/Demetriuscamp06/status/1747094725545414974 “It's mainly coach JT but I've talked with the OL coach a little bit too. He’s from here so it’s real easy to connect with him,” Campbell added. The message from the Terps has been simple: “Mostly that they really want me. They love me and they think that I can play soon when I get there.” Georgia Tech became the latest school to offer while Duke, USF, Louisville, Colorado State and Boston College are among the double-digit offers. With Miami (FL) showing interest through the spring, Campbell is eyeing a return visit to check out the ‘Canes along with visiting UCF in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, Campbell is in the process of scheduling visits to both Rutgers and Syracuse next month with official visit destinations still in the works. As a junior, Campbell shined at left tackle for Orlando Christian Prep en route to its regional final appearance as he earned all-district honors. The dominant lineman also grew up playing basketball with his older brother, Dom, now a sophomore forward at Howard. Demetrius Campbell is not yet rated by On3, but is rated a three-star and an 86 overall by 247. Related Links
