Five-star "Manny" Iheanacho getting "a lot of love from Maryland fans"

Georgetown Prep (MD) has a handful of rising seniors in the mix to find homes across college football with seniors Wyatt Bowman and Dominic Desarno looking to lead the team into the fall. But the Hoyas will also be led by one of the nation’s top prospects with five-star Immanuel “Manny” Iheanacho paving the way in the trenches. The 6-foot-7, 335-pound lineman wrapped up likely his last camp before his junior season after putting an emphasis on his technique through the spring. “My kickstep, run game, all that stuff, getting stronger and faster. All the stuff I’m working on. I’m emphasizing getting better,” Iheanacho told IBG. His towering frame and development through his sophomore season has entrenched him as a high-ceiling lineman with NFL potential, making it a matter of time before the nation’s best came calling. Iheanacho already holds over 20 verbal offers and took multi-day visits to Alabama, Auburn and Georgia back in the spring while he looks to visit Penn State, Texas and Georgia this summer. One school he knows will be in the mix until the end is Maryland as assistants James Thomas and Brian Braswell have teamed up to make the hometown program a factor early on. “It’s always nice being home. It’s a nice home factor, the stay home movement is very big. I try to keep the main thing the main thing but I get a lot of love from Maryland fans, too, so that plays a big part. I’ve been talking to coach Braswell. I talk with coach Thomas too, whenever I call him he always picks up and we talk.” Iheanacho was back on campus for the spring game where he was able to reconnect with both Braswell and Thomas, but his relationship with the staff began last June when at the time, the raw lineman made his way to campus for the annual Big Man camp. His chance to work with both Braswell and current Raiders tackle DJ Glaze resonates with Iheanacho even almost a year later. “Coach Braswell has seen me when I could barely get in a two-point stance. There were a couple of bad reps at Maryland. He’s seen me go from that to where I’m at now, getting this love and attention. It’s more important knowing he’s seen me develop,” Iheanacho added. “And I’ve seen him get guys to the league like Delmar Glaze. When I was at the camp, was helping me a lot. He saw I wasn’t too familiar with the game and he helped me a lot. I’m appreciative of that and the whole Maryland family.” “Maryland, it’s home so it’s always going to be an option.” “Manny” Iheanacho is rated a five-star prospect and a 98 overall by On3, debuting as the nation’s top offensive tackle and third-best prospect overall in the 2026 cycle.
