DJ Glaze becomes second Terp to accept Reese's Senior Bowl invitation

Maryland was tasked with replacing at least four starters heading into the 2024 season, and now, it appears the offense is now tasked with replacing its fifth and final starter. The Reese's Senior Bowl announced that star lineman DJ Glaze had accepted his invitation for the all-star game, which is set for Feb. 3, 2024. Glaze becomes the second Terp to suit up in the upcoming Senior Bowl, joining safety Beau Brade. https://twitter.com/seniorbowl/status/1738727856660795532 After appearing in one game during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, Glaze became a staple along the offensive line where he appeared in every game as a redshirt freshman with six starts (four at RT, two at LT). Glaze elevated into the starting rotation in 2022 and never looked back, starting all but one game at RT while sliding over to LT for his 12th start of the season, before starting every game as Maryland's left tackle in 2023. DJ Glaze was the prize of the offseason with a chance to return for another season in order to not just anchor Maryland's starting line, but give himself a chance to elevate his stock into a potential day two pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. One season after the Terps saw a pair of linemen become day three selections in the draft, Glaze will likely end his Maryland career with his team-high 29th consecutive start in next week's Music City Bowl vs. Auburn. "It's probably one of hardest decisions you'll ever have to make so just trying to analyze the pros and cons of both sides of it," Glaze said last week about his stay-or-go decision. "Still trying to work on exactly what I want to do. Like I said, there's pros to both sides so at the end of the day, it really just comes down to how comfortable am I with the decision that I have to make. I feel like I'm getting pretty close here. Just trying to really right now get ready for the bowl game, play there then that'll probably clear things up going forward." Glaze shed light on what the appeal of returning for the 2024 season is. "Just coming back for another year, maybe showing some position versatility, moving around on hte line. Showing scouts I can play here, I can play there. That's one of the biggest things that I feel like could help me if I did make the decision to come back. Basically just letting me know I can improve my draft grade just coming back, dominating again and moving around the line." DJ Glaze signed with Maryland as a former three-star prospect out of West Mecklenburg (NC) in the 2020 class. Maryland will face Auburn on Saturday, Dec. 30 for a 2 PM EST kickoff. Related Links
