Maryland saw a third player leave the program since the portal opened on April 15. Second year center Coltin Deery has entered the transfer portal, joining outside linebacker Bam Booker and offensive lineman Keon Kindred. Deery, a former three-star prospect out of Malvern Prep (PA), signed with Maryland in the 2022 class and was viewed as a potential long-term answer along Maryland's offensive line. After Maryland's unit battled through injuries last season, Deery drew his first career start in the win over Northwestern. Maryland entered spring ball with a battle at center with Deery battling third-year center Aric Harris. Offensive line coach Brian Braswell also credited incoming freshman Tamarus Walker as a potential winner for the starting job. "Those guys will battle for the starting position and they'll battle for it daily. We have a big freshman coming in this summer who, if he comes in ready, he'll battle for that position as well. Like I told someone earlier, those positions are wide open and you're battling for your position every day." Maryland returns DJ Glaze as the lone starter from last year's unit while Gottlieb Ayedze, Marcus Dumervil and Corey Bullock have joined the program to bolster the unit. Maryland is now expected to have seven vacant scholarships heading into the 2023 season. Maryland's spring game is set for April 29. Related Links
