Â
The program announced head coach Jim Christian as the new head coach back on April 8 as Canisius welcomes ten transfers, including five D1 bouncebacks. Former Central Michigan guard Paul McMillan IV leads the team in scoring (22.4) while shooting above 52% from the field, while Tana Kopa, a former Northeast Conference selection while at Long Island selection last season, sits second on the team in scoring (14.2).
Â
Canisius opened the season with a 29-point loss against ninth-ranked Arizona back on Nov. 4 and has since lost to St. Bonaventure, Mercyhurst, SIUE and Western Michigan. They also average the second-fewest points (64.2) and allow the most points (82) per game in the MAAC.
Â
Maryland will look to cruise to victory and pick up their fourth Quad Four win of the season before traveling to face Villanova at the Prudential Center.
