Blue chip safety JaDon Blair includes Maryland in top ten

Head coach Mike Locksley and his staff have been able to sign one prospect out of North Carolina in each of the last three recruiting classes, and they made the cut for one of the state's best prospects on Friday afternoon as top-50 prospect JaDon Blair included Maryland in his top ten. Blair, a 6-foot-4, 180-pound safety, included Florida State, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest in his top group. Maryland has been recruiting the blue-chip safety for over a year now as Blair previously visited College Park last April and told IBG that Maryland was among the schools recruiting him the hardest heading into his junior season. “I got to see the facilities, got to view the practice then take some pictures. Getting to meet face-to-face was good. He was really busy, in and out of meetings but getting to speak to him was real cool. He loves me,” Blair said at the time. Blair has a long list of visits already set with an official to Virginia Tech set for April 12 then South Carolina on May 31. Blair has officials scheduled to Notre Dame (June 11), Michigan (June 14) and Penn State (June 21), along with a pair of unofficial visits to Michigan and Penn State. Maryland will look to get Blair back on campus at least one more time before he narrows focus with plans to commit in July. JaDon Blair is rated a four-star prospect and a 94 overall by On3, checking in as the nation's second-best safety and 43rd-best prospect nationally.
