After final All Star game, Philly OT Jesse Moody ready to head to Maryland football

For the final time in his high school career, Imhotep (Pa.) offensive tackle Jesse Moody put on the pads for one last All Star game after suiting up for Team Pennsylvania in last weekend’s Big 33 game, falling 18-10 for Team Maryland’s second consecutive win in the All Star game.

While it marked a chance to play against a handful of other Power Four signees, along with Maryland signee and longsnapper Rory Knipp, Moody is ready to now begin his college career.

“Good competition, just terrible playing weather for us, offensive line. It was just very wet, very hard for us to play through the weather,” Moody told IBG. “Especially the offensive line, but we did it.”

After committing to Maryland over Rutgers last summer, Moody is set to enroll in College Park the morning of June 13th as the 6-foot-6 offensive tackle is ready to get started, but he also spent the last few months making several trips down to campus for both spring practices along with the Spring Showcase. It’s a familiar spot for Moody after making countless trips to campus since committing back in early July last year, while he was able to be around the staff and players to acclimate himself to the pace of college football.

“I was down there for a couple of the spring practices. It was great just seeing coach Wrobo coach up the players, being around the guys, just felt good being around them. Just having conversations and I’ve had meetings going over the plays, just watching them and the older guys who play, watch them go over the plays and the basic concepts in football.”

The last part for Moody is trimming down the last bit of weight as he looks to arrive in College Park around 325 pounds, a roughly ten pound difference from his current weight.

“Just training harder, locked in more, focusing more. Technically now I’m a college athlete so the work picks up.”
